Bakuna Muna: Protecting Our Communities through Vaccination
In collaboration with NCAPIP and the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA), CYFAM's Community Engagement Committee hosted an educational webinar, "Bakuna Muna: Protecting our Communities through Vaccination," on Thursday, November 21, 2024. The event featured Dr. Homer Abiad, an Infectious Disease physician based in Chicago, IL, and Dr. Elvy Barroso, recipient of the 2024 PAFIOO Banaag Award for her work in decreasing tuberculosis within the Filipino community. Both speakers provided wonderful insight about the importance and benefits of vaccinations, with a focus on COVID-19, influenza, and RSV. The second half of the event was an open forum session addressing questions from the audience.
